Course Content

Module 1
Learn what enrichment really means and why it is essential for behavioral health, especially for anxious or reactive dogs. You’ll observe your dog to discover what they find naturally rewarding and identify behaviors you want to encourage. This foundation helps you tailor enrichment to fit your dog’s needs instead of using a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • What enrichment is….and why is it important?

Module 2
Not all dogs enjoy the same activities — and that’s GOOD! In this module, you’ll learn how genetics influence what each dog finds rewarding. Herding dogs, terriers, scent hounds, retrievers… each has instincts we can channel into healthy, appropriate activities. When we support natural behaviors, enrichment becomes easier and more effective.

Module 3
We don’t want dogs overwhelmed — enrichment should always help them win. Here we look at how to adjust games for age, personality, physical ability, and emotional state. You’ll also learn why short, frequent micro-doses work best, and why enrichment shouldn’t be saved only for rainy days or when the dog is bored.

Module 4
This is where creativity comes in! You’ll get a variety of game suggestions and a baseline puzzle activity designed to help you discover how your dog learns: Are they persistent? Easily frustrated? Do they solve by using paws, problem-solving, or waiting for help? Understanding this helps you tailor future enrichment for success.

Module 5
You don’t need hours or expensive tools — just the right strategies. Here you’ll learn how to make enrichment fit seamlessly into your daily routine. Quick setups, rotation systems to keep things exciting, and ideas for days when time and energy are low. Enrichment becomes a lifestyle, not a project.
